If you’re a mother-tongue English speaker in possession of a recognised degree, we’d love to hear from you.
Our ideal candidate is a native English speaker with exceptional communication skills and a high level of business acumen. We’re looking for dynamic and motivated English language trainers who can drive success for our corporate clients.
What’s a trainer? Well, it’s not a teacher. Forget textbooks or young learners. Experience in English teaching is a plus, but we’re looking for someone who knows how to make an impact in the workplace.
- Have you ever led an induction for a new hire in your team?
- Have you ever edited or provided feedback on business communications, such as slides, reports or marketing material?
- Have you ever delivered presentations or sales pitches?
If you answered yes to the above questions, then you might have the perfect skills needed to be a successful trainer. Get in touch to share your CV.

10 Reasons to Work for TLG
1. We’re committed to continuing professional development
You receive at least 32 hours of paid training every year. It covers a range of hard and soft skills, and is designed to help you excel in your role. This amounts to more than 2.5 hours of training a month and at least 40 minutes each week.
In addition to formal training sessions, you have 24/7 access to our learning and development portal. It includes answers to common questions, tips for lesson delivery, and a whole host of other information relating to the trainer role and our organization.
We also invest in career progression. When you’ve worked with us for over 12 months, you can receive training in coaching and management, so you can work towards the role of Senior Trainer.
1. We only work with professional clients
TLG only works with serious and dedicated businesses, which means no screaming children or grumpy teenagers! All our clients are adults who are often experts in their field. We become their trusted advisors and help them see real-world results with their English.
3. We offer a generous and flexible annual leave package
Italian public holidays are paid for full-time staff (and for part-time staff, if they fall on a working day). In addition, we offer 25 days of paid holiday, bringing the total to 38 days. This translates to 6 weeks of paid leave each year.
We also offer 4 days of paid hourly leave – called permesso – that can be taken for administrative or health matters (such as visiting the doctor or the bank during the working week).
Requesting leave couldn’t be simpler – just head to the learning and development portal and fill in a quick form. Our digital calendar takes care of rescheduling your students, so you don’t have anything to worry about while you’re gone.
4. We’re serious about our environmental responsibilities
When you think of English teaching, do you imagine textbooks, notebooks and thousands of printed worksheets?
TLG is a paperless company. Not only do we hold an ISO environmental certification, but we’re also committed to minimizing our environmental impact. And we encourage those who work with us to do the same.
5. We support you through life’s ups and downs
No one should have to be worrying about work when they’re unwell. At TLG, absences because of sickness, injury or hospital visits are all paid via the INPS (Italian social security and welfare office) scheme. You just need to provide a valid doctor’s note covering the period of absence.
Are you planning on starting a family? We provide both maternity and paternity leave for expectant parents. Whenever possible, we provide unpaid leave for caregivers, for example if a child is sick or there are problems with childcare.
We also offer honeymoon leave. Newlyweds are entitled to paid marriage leave for 15 calendar days, to be used within a month of the wedding.
6. Hard work pays off
We believe that hard work and commitment should be rewarded, which is why we operate a bonus scheme (usually discussed during your yearly appraisal).
We appreciate that monetary bonuses are heavily taxed, so we also offer to convert the bonus’ value into other perks, such as computers, tablets or even airline tickets.
7. We offer above-average remuneration
We employ people with strong academic backgrounds, many of whom have had successful careers in business, and who bring a wealth of experience and skills to TLG. In return, we offer a competitive remuneration package, above the national average.
A TLG trainer’s salary is divided into 13 payments, which means you receive the 13th payment (the tredicesima) of your salary during December. Just in time for Christmas shopping!
8. We reward you for helping us grow the business
We know that recommendations are a powerful marketing tool. We therefore offer an internal bonus (or “finder’s fee”) for referring clients to TLG.
TLG staff have the potential to earn 5% of the contract value for a successful introduction to a new individual client. It goes up to 10% of the contract value for a successful introduction to a new organization (when the contract is won).
9. There’s no time wasted or hanging around between lessons
Your lessons are block booked in one client location. In gaps between lessons or when you have a cancellation, you’re paid to complete admin and other tasks.
We make sure you’re not standing around for hours without being paid. If you do need to move between clients or attend training, we reimburse you for your time.
10. We always maintain a happy and healthy work/life balance
TLG is made up of a diverse team of passionate, interesting and motivated individuals from all walks of life and all corners of the world. We embrace these differences and are fully committed to maintaining a positive workplace culture. We work in a high-level business environment delivering an exceptional professional service – but as a team, we’re also creative, fun and supportive.
Our office hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Full-time trainers work 38 hours per week, which means they have the option to start at 11am or leave at 4pm on one of these days. We also offer a variety of part-time contracts.
Unlike some other teaching positions, you’re never expected to work overtime – and there’s no time spent working on lesson plans during evenings and weekends.
