Our ideal candidate is a native English speaker with exceptional communication skills and a high level of business acumen. We’re looking for dynamic and motivated English language trainers who can drive success for our corporate clients.

What’s a trainer? Well, it’s not a teacher. Forget textbooks or young learners. Experience in English teaching is a plus, but we’re looking for someone who knows how to make an impact in the workplace.

- Have you ever led an induction for a new hire in your team?
- Have you ever edited or provided feedback on business communications, such as slides, reports or marketing material?
- Have you ever delivered presentations or sales pitches?

If you answered yes to the above questions, then you might have the perfect skills needed to be a successful trainer. Get in touch to share your CV.

Read on to find out what we can offer.

1. We’re committed to continuing professional development

You receive at least 32 hours of paid training every year. It covers a range of hard and soft skills, and is designed to help you excel in your role. This amounts to more than 2.5 hours of training a month and at least 40 minutes each week.

In addition to formal training sessions, you have 24/7 access to our learning and development portal. It includes answers to common questions, tips for lesson delivery, and a whole host of other information relating to the trainer role and our organization.

We also invest in career progression. When you’ve worked with us for over 12 months, you can receive training in coaching and management, so you can work towards different goals

2. We only work with professional clients

TLG only works with serious and dedicated businesses, which means no screaming children or grumpy teenagers! All our clients are adults who are often experts in their field. We become their trusted advisors and help them see real-world results with their English.

3. We offer a generous and flexible rewarding scheme

Our trainers are paid an above average hourly rate, and the hours are guarenteed for up to 44 weeks a year, meaning no need to worry about cancelled sessions or non booked sessions.

Requesting leave couldn’t be simpler – just head to the learning and development portal and fill in a quick form. Our digital calendar takes care of rescheduling your students, so you don’t have anything to worry about while you’re gone.

4. We’re serious about our environmental responsibilities

When you think of English teaching, do you imagine textbooks, notebooks and thousands of printed worksheets?

Think again.

TLG is a paperless company. Not only do we hold an ISO environmental certification, but we’re also committed to minimizing our environmental impact. And we encourage those who work with us to do the same.

5. Hard work pays off

We believe that hard work and commitment should be rewarded, which is why we operate a bonus scheme (usually discussed during an annual learning review).

6. We offer above-average remuneration

We employ people with strong academic backgrounds, many of whom have had successful careers in business, and who bring a wealth of experience and skills to TLG. In return, we offer competitive rewarding, above the industry average.

7. We reward you for helping us grow the business

We know that recommendations are a powerful marketing tool. We therefore offer an internal bonus (or “finder’s fee”) for referring clients to TLG.

TLG staff have the potential to earn 5% of the contract value for a successful introduction to a new individual client. It goes up to 10% of the contract value for a successful introduction to a new organization (when the contract is won).

8. We always maintain a happy and healthy work/life balance

TLG is made up of a diverse team of passionate, interesting and motivated individuals from all walks of life and all corners of the world. We embrace these differences and are fully committed to maintaining a positive workplace culture. We work in a high-level business environment delivering an exceptional professional service – but as a team, we’re also creative, fun and supportive.

Our office hours are 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. We also offer a variety of part-time contracts.

Unlike some other teaching positions, you’re never expected to work overtime – and there’s no time spent working on lesson plans during evenings and weekends.

In Their Own Words

Since I joined The Language Grid in 2014, I've never had a boring day at work. Not many employees can say that about their job, but then not many organizations boast a working culture that is as dynamic and innovative as TLG's. For me, my job is all about the people I work with. These people include both my students, in whose results I am infinitely invested, but also my colleagues, whose progression and achievements are inextricably interlinked with my own. I'm proud to work for a company that believes in its values and always pushes me to aim higher.

Trainer
Working at TLG taught me a lot about organization, independence, and initiative-taking. I enjoyed being part of a dynamic team and receiving full support from my seniors, as well as being able to work on my own for the most part. The work-load is very manageable and the limited movements from one student to the next are a huge plus. As with any new teaching and training job, if the beginning seems a little overwhelming, what with scheduling, monitoring, and getting familiar with new set materials, it quickly becomes second nature. Also, thanks to the tight-knit nature of the school and its clients, rapport development with students is natural and extremely rewarding. I would highly recommend working with TLG!
