Reflex Learning

“Learning by working” (also known as experiential learning or “learning by doing”) consists of learning through practical experience rather than theoretical assimilation of concepts or information.

You need to practice what you learn through exercises, experiments, role-plays, simulations and other activities that force you to apply what you learn. The basic idea is that your active and direct involvement make it easier to remember things and for longer than simply reading or listening to information.

Such an approach lets you develop a more comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge you are acquiring and learn more naturally and pragmatically.

The only one applied to English language learning

The Reflex Learning method is often used in vocational training where specific practical skills need to be acquired (e.g. cooking, driving, artisan skills, etc.), but it can also be used in other areas of learning, such as, art education and technical training.

What about English language training?

In Italy, teaching English is often based on learning concepts and theory, similar to learning multiplication tables in maths. But English is a living and dynamic language that requires an approach based on practical experience.

TLG is one of the few companies in the world that focuses on this aspect of learning and makes it an integral part of its working method for training and consultancy services for companies.

Learning by working

By adopting a hands-on approach in which students actually try things, such learning really stays with us.

Our learning pathways are specifically designed to replicate the scenarios you typically come across in your working day

Such an approach means that, from the very first minute, people who are learning to use English are accustomed to using it in realistic situations and with high interests at stake, thus promoting active and sustained language learning.

From one brain hemisphere to the other

Each lesson is planned to encourage the  transfer of language learned in one hemisphere of our brain to the other, which means transferring language from the passive to the active part. In short, to communicate effectively in English, it is necessary to move the language from the left hemisphere of the brain to the right hemisphere, thus replicating language use in a mother-tongue speaker

But this can only be done if the pedagogical approach allows it. Traditional methods of language teaching (based on reading, writing, vocabulary, conversation and grammar exercises) are not enough.

We simulate daily work…

As children, we learned by “pretending” to be and do things.

It was a way to learn different skills and abilities. Objects, actions and situations were symbols, representing something that was not present but was easily imagined. A box became a house. You might pretend to drink without holding a glass or ride a motorbike with your feet on the ground…

Our Business English courses provide an experience that is equally engaging and challenging. Learning then becomes natural.

…and you become confident to do it

We put you “under pressure”
You will have to do timed exercises that force the mind and prevent systematic memory activation.

We replicate real work situations
There is no warm-up as we expect you to start interacting as you would in a real meeting.

Assessment
This is based on the effectiveness of your communication, not on the grammatical correctness of your verbs or conjugations.

Useful right from the beginning

From the initial assessment onwards, our approach is to build trust with our clients through a long lasting and highly engaging experience. We are committed to providing a long-term service that is useful and can be used right from the beginning. Our aim is to kick start a process that not only adds value along the way, but also delivers tangible results straight away.

Our training modules will enable you to use Business English and develop the ability to deal confidently and independently with the following work situations: video-conferencing, webinars, negotiations, networking events, meetings, presentations and more. In addition, our highly competent and international team will focus on how to write emails and business documents, on improving your pronunciation and on increasing your knowledge of the English-speaking world.
