Why Our Trainers are the Key to Your Success

We have a very clear mission here at TLG. It’s to help companies and individuals use English more effectively in their everyday working life.

Driving Success

We know that we can’t achieve this goal by offering language courses that are limited to exam preparation or rote learning of business vocabulary. It’s very clear that effective business English doesn’t mean perfect grammar. Instead, we combine our cutting-edge digital platform with blended-learning courses and language consultancy services to guarantee real world results to our clients. To facilitate these services we employ a team of talented, adaptable professionals who are able to quickly grasp our clients’ requirements and to empower them with the tools they need to succeed. This emphasis on results, business know-how and a flexible approach to problem-solving is reflected in both our recruitment and people development strategies.

Working With The Best

To begin with, our hiring strategy focuses on attracting the top talent from across the English speaking world. As you would expect from an accredited CEF grading centre and ISO certified company, all of TLG’s employees are graduates in possession of recognised teaching qualifications. However, beyond this, we take an innovative approach to finding the right candidates. Rather than solely employing those with advanced teaching certificates or linguistics degrees, we search for smart, tech-savvy professionals with proven business experience.

Among our team, we boast trainers with advanced degrees in business administration, human resources, public administration and luxury brand management – to name just a few. Between us, we have accrued years of experience in sectors such banking, IT, sales, and accounting. It’s these credentials, along with our innate grasp of the Anglophonic approach to business, that gives us confidence in our ability to leverage the power of communication to drive success for our clients.

I vividly remember preparing a student for a televised interview with the head of Deloitte’s global public policy initiative. He was convinced he should rehearse a formal introduction to set the stage for the discussion with his esteemed guest. Had the interview been taking place in another language, this may have been the correct approach. But I intuited – rightly, as it turned out – that the guest would opt for an informal “hi” and get stuck straight into the debate. This was obvious to me because I’ve attended crucial business meetings in both English and Italian. My understanding, not just of the language, but of the cultural nuances involved, meant I was able to support my student to make the best possible impression.

What Sets Us Apart

It doesn’t stop with our recruitment policies; we integrate this results-focused, flexible and practical approach into our people development strategy. We understand that for our clients to get maximum value from online English courses, our expert trainers need the skills to be able to curate a business-focused course that will ensure a return on investment for clients. We invest significant amounts in internal training and development, offering courses that go beyond teaching, and empower our team with vital workplace skills, such as giving feedback, managing projects or adapting communication.

Whether you need help rehearsing for an important speech in English, support in managing an international negotiation, or insights on how to best tailor your business communications for an English speaking audience, the TLG team has both the skills and expertise to drive results for your business.

If you’re a native English speaker with a business background and an interest in pursuing a career with TLG, check out our website where you can find out more about what we offer to employees.
